The Neighbourhood

A perch above the Gardens.

The nest sits in Gardens, the leafy neighbourhood just above the Company Gardens: the mountain on one side, the sea on the other, and the city's best streets in between. Stay here and you spend your holiday walking, not commuting.

Eat & drink.

  • Kloof Street The city's best stretch of cafés, bistros and wine bars. An easy stroll from the front door.
  • Bree Street Tapas, bakeries, natural wine and late-night spots. Ten minutes on foot, downhill on the way there.
  • Neighbourhood coffee Speciality roasters on almost every block. Your first flat white is minutes away.

See & do.

  • The Company Gardens Right below the nest: shaded walks, resident squirrels, and the museums along its edge.
  • Table Mountain The cableway is a short drive away. Sunrise hikes up Lion's Head start nearby too.
  • V&A Waterfront Harbourside shopping, the Zeitz MOCAA museum and boat trips, minutes away by car.
  • Bo-Kaap The famously colourful, historic quarter. Best wandered slowly, in the morning.

Day trips.

  • Camps Bay & Clifton White-sand beaches and sundowners on the Atlantic seaboard, a quick drive over the ridge.
  • Kirstenbosch Gardens One of the world's great botanical gardens, with summer sunset concerts on the lawn.
  • The Winelands Stellenbosch and Franschhoek make an unforgettable day trip, under an hour away.

Getting around.

Ubers are plentiful and affordable, the MyCiTi bus covers the city centre and the Atlantic seaboard, and the airport is roughly twenty minutes by car. Most days, though, your feet will do just fine.

Make the Gardens your base.
